Real-World Impact
From the world's largest archipelago to the heart of Africa — SMILE delivers measurable results for global health supply chains.
Indonesia — National Cold Chain Monitoring
In partnership with UNDP & Kemenkes RI
Indonesia — the world's largest archipelago with over 17,000 islands — presents one of the most complex vaccine distribution challenges on earth. Vaccines must travel from central warehouses in Jakarta to remote health clinics in Papua, across mountains, seas, and through tropical heat.
SMILE provides real-time monitoring of every cold chain point in this vast network. Temperature data is collected continuously, alerts are triggered instantly when breaches occur, and a national dashboard gives health authorities complete visibility via smile.kemkes.go.id.
Malawi — eHIN Malawi
Deployed as electronic Health Information Network
Building on the success in Indonesia, SMILE's technology was adapted for the African context and deployed in Malawi as eHIN Malawi (electronic Health Information Network).
This cross-continent deployment demonstrates SMILE's replicability and adaptability. The platform was customized for Malawi's infrastructure, health system structure, and specific cold chain requirements — proving that SMILE is not a one-country solution, but a globally-relevant Digital Public Good.
